After a (bad) experience with drupal, I was in search for a good way to have a personal website while being easy to keep it updated.
I was thinking about creating something using pure HTML/CSS so I could train myself up on this area. But it's just impractical. So I started looking for alternatives.
One of them is using React, but it would involve adding a bunch of code just to assemble the page using the framework, and I didn't like the idea (I don't want a simple homepage bloated with a lot of third-party magic scripts since I won't use them most of time).
Then I knew the world of static site generators, and decided to try. And I'm trying pelican to see if it's good to use. It looks simple to use and lightweight on site deploy - exactly what I was looking for.
If it works great, I'll keep using it :D
